This project began with a hidden plumbing leak beneath the kitchen sink that went unnoticed for an extended period of time.
By the time the issue was discovered, moisture had spread throughout the sink cabinet, surrounding cabinetry, wall cavities, and structural materials, resulting in extensive mold growth and water damage. Our team performed a thorough inspection and identified significant contamination inside the sink base cabinet, behind the cabinet walls, and throughout the affected framing. After establishing proper containment, we removed damaged materials, exposed the affected structural components, and eliminated mold-contaminated areas following industry-standard remediation procedures. Once demolition and remediation were completed, antimicrobial treatment was applied to the exposed framing and structural materials. Professional drying equipment was installed to reduce moisture levels and ensure the affected areas were properly dried before reconstruction began.
After confirming that moisture levels had returned to acceptable conditions, we rebuilt the damaged sections of the kitchen, restored cabinetry, completed drywall repairs, installed new finishes, and returned the space to its original appearance and functionality. This project is a good example of why hidden plumbing leaks should never be ignored. What initially appeared to be a minor issue underneath the sink had already caused significant damage behind finished surfaces. Early detection and proper remediation helped prevent further structural deterioration and additional mold growth.
